Obituary for Gwendolyn Mary Cuvelier (Dunbar)

CUVELIER (Dunbar), Gwendolyn Mary of Caledon, Ontario, formerly of Halifax, Nova Scotia, passed away suddenly on December 12, 2020 in Caledon. She was the daughter of John and Marie (Boutilier) Dunbar of Ellershouse, NS. She married Walter Cuvelier of Halifax in 1964. She retired from her work at Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, loved to read and cook, and most of all be a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, spouse, sister, aunt, and friend. She valued her relationships above everything else. She will be dearly missed by the many lives she touched.

She is survived by sons Walter (Paula) and Michaell (Krista), grandson Alexander (Shannon), granddaughter Avery, her partner of several years Eugene Lewis, sister Rose Bent, brother John Dunbar, several nieces and nephews, extended family Greg (Pam), Lisa, Louise, Susanne (Andrew), Catherine (Peter), Joe (Trisha) and their families plus 11 extended family grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, first husband Walter, sister Carol MacLearn, brother Arnold Dunbar, sister Sharon (MacLellan) Dunbar, and brother Roger Burns.

Private Funeral Service will be held at Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. (Due to COVID restrictions the Chapel is limited to 50 people. Please contact the family if you wish to attend) Webcast of service will be available at 2:30 p.m. Face coverings must be worn during all events during this service.

A tree will be planted in memory of Gwendolyn in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. The next annual dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
