Obituary for Gregory Pearson Fisher

Gregory Pearson Fisher 1964-2020.
Beloved son (Herbert, Marjorie - predeceased), brother (Mark-Helen), (Anne, Kathleen- predeceased), loving uncle to (Addison-Alena, Garrett-Aby, Sharon-Tom, Derek- Wendy, Gregory, Evan) and devoted stepfather to Stephanie. A lifelong friend to Dave and Michelle Harvey and godfather to Sarah.Colleague and friend to all Peel Region policemen and women. Proud member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 233, Orangeville.

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Greg in his 56th year on New Year’s Eve. A dedicated retired Peel police officer of 33 years. Greg answered his last dispatch to report to heaven.

Born in 1964 in Brampton, Greg grew up in Bramalea. An avid baseball player, and was a main contributor to the Bramalea Blues Hockey organization. A well-read history buff who enjoyed learning about WW11 and Canadian Navy, political aficionado an avid news watcher, Coronation Street fan, animal lover (wolves), always happy to help a friend, or to sit and chat over a drink. A solid guy who loved his country (but not the Liberal party).

Greg joined Peel Police at eighteen years old as a cadet and retired in 2015. Greg served in many bureaus during his time in Peel, including robbery, youth, CIB, and uniformed bureaus.

Greg will be cremated and no funeral service will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held when we are able to (September TBA) at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 233.

A tree will be planted in memory of Gregory in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. The next annual dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
