It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Gerald Hand announce his passing on Saturday, August 18, 2018 after a brave battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Beatrice (née Carson); his children Christina, Kimberly and Justin (Sandra); his loving granddaughters Brianna, Sarah and Juliana who were his pride and his joy. Gerald had a great love of horses and farmed all his life as a resident of Mono.
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Big Red Barn Creativity & Wellness Centre, 7171 2nd Line Tottenham, On L0G 1W0 or Whispering Hearts Horse Rescue at www.whhrescue.com would be appreciated by the family.
A tree will be planted in memory of Gerald in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
