Obituary

Frances Harper
With deep sorrow mixed with hope, we announce the passing of Frances Quin Harper of Orangeville, Ontario on Thurs.Oct.3, 2019 after a long and fulfilling life. Born in Toronto to Robert and Dorothy Quin, Frances graduated from York Memorial Collegiate and continued her education at Business College and the Emmaus Bible Institute.
As a young person, she was invited to church by a good friend and saw the joy and peace in the lives of those she met there. She realized her need of a Saviour, and made the life altering decision to become a follower of Jesus. She was a sincere, passionate follower of Jesus Christ for the rest of her life.
Frances and her husband Jack met and fell in love as teenagers. They were happily married for 72 years. She was the mother of (the late) Robert (Janice), Elizabeth (Peter), Stephen (Kathleen), David (Nancy) and Colleen (Mark). Frances and Jack were blessed with 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren whom they dearly loved. A beautiful person in every way, she was the heart of her family and will be greatly missed.
Always a brave woman, Frances gave birth to 4 of her children in small hospitals in Malawi and Zimbabwe while she and her husband were serving as missionaries with S.I.M.
She had a lifelong commitment to doing kind deeds for the welfare of others, which included sharing her home with many people in need, teaching children in a club at her home, counselling for a mental health hotline, and teaching English to refugees.

Many at Richview have fond memories of Fran, and we are so grateful for all the ways she and Jack wholeheartedly loved. Their presence among us was a gift from God, and the ripple effects of God's gift continue to be experienced as people follow their example and love as they did. Please know that we are praying for each of you through this time. Love from the Richview Church family

Dear Colleen and Mark.
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your wonderful Mom. You will miss her tremendously...She had such a lovely warm and kind demeanor and you always felt welcomed in her presence.
I'm sure she has already connected with my Mom and they will be busy catching up. There were a lot of prayers utter by these two, on behalf of their children and grandchildren.
Thinking of you,
Barb Sawicki

I always thought of her as “my pal” Mrs Harper, as she fulfilled that role in my Pioneer Girls days at Richview Baptist. It wasn’t until years later( like 30!) when I ran into her and found out she WAS STILL PRAYING for me!! I am moved to tears even now, just writing this. What a godly, beautiful woman. I am so blessed to have been known and prayed for by her. Can’t wait to reunite in glory!
Love always, Karin (Friedrich) Reynolds

Think Frances and Jack quite often, she definitely loved and cared for people. I was blessed to know them in my early years at Richview Baptist Church..
