Obituary for Eva Dickson

Dickson, Frances Eva (nee Williston)
Eva Dickson was born in Bay Du Vin, New Brunswick on March 25, 1937, and passed away peacefully at home in Hockley Valley, Ontario, surrounded by her family on July 12, 2020, at 83 years of age.
Eva was born and raised in Bay Du Vin and moved to Toronto, ON as a young woman to build a life for herself. It was here, despite growing up a mere 20 minutes from each other, she met Omar Dickson and the two quickly fell in love. Sharing love and appreciation for the simple things in life, family and the company of each other they soon got married and started a family. Eva truly flourished in her role as a mother, always leading with a supportive hand, a loving heart and an understanding nature, she devoted herself entirely to her family as nothing filled her with more joy. Through the years as her family grew, so would her love for them as she welcomed daughter and son-in-law’s, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eva will always be remembered for her kind heart, infectious laugh, and the love she had for her family. She understood life’s hardships and was always there to open her home and offer an ear to anyone who needed it, they just had to make sure it was her good one. Though her life was not an easy one, it was led with grace and love, continuously exemplifying her quiet strength, open heart and supportive nature. She was a woman who loved her family immeasurably and has left her mark on more hearts than can be imagined. Her love, fire and spirit will never be forgotten.
Eva is predeceased by her husband Omar Dickson. She is survived by her three children Tammy Rivest, Grant Dickson and Michael Dickson. Daughter-in-law’s Marie Dickson and Lori Dickson, pre-deceased by son-in-law Denis Rivest. Survived by grandchildren Shelby, Kathleen, Olivia and Jesse, great-granddaughter Sophia, sisters Bertha Lucas (Guy) and Betty Macdougall and brother Alfred Williston (Donna).
