Smart, Emma Margriet
With broken hearts, we reluctantly acknowledge that we have lost our daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and beloved friend, Emma Smart.
Tributes have poured in from those remembering her as funny, sensitive, deeply caring, loyal, brilliantly intelligent and wildly adventurous.
Emma took the world by storm from day one. She wanted to jump straight into being the teacher before ever going to school. We remember her standing on the diving board in an oversize life jacket, soother in mouth, leaping in with wild abandon. That's how she approached everything in her life.
Emma was a profoundly sensitive soul who came to a deep place of faith in Jesus in the last few years. She was loved by a wide circle of family and friends who each secretly imagined themselves as her favourite.
We are confident that she is at peace now and in the loving embrace of the One she came to believe in and desired to follow. She will be painfully missed by those of us who love her so dearly.
“Whoever lives and believes in me will never die.” - Jesus
