Obituary for Eleanor Isabel Jamieson (McMillan)

Eleanor Isabel Jamieson (McMillan), 92, of Orangeville, ON, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021, just one day short of her 93rd birthday.

Private Family Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre Orangeville. Rev. Sandra McLauchlan Abuja of Westminster United Church will be officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Mono.

Eleanor was born in Orangeville on May 16, 1928. She graduated from Orangeville High School in 1946 and made her home in Orangeville all her life. Her family originally came from the Greenbank / Uxbridge area.

Eleanor married Harold Jamieson on June 28, 1958 in Westminster United Church; they were married 63 years. She greatly enjoyed music and was a member of the Westminster United Church Choir for over 60 years where she had many close friends and good times. The church has a hanging cross which was donated by the family in memory of Donald James McMillan RCAF, her brother, killed in action during the second world war.

Beloved wife of Harold Jamieson. Dear mother of Heather and Brian (Heidi) of Calgary. Cherished grandmother of her special girls Mackenzie and Tyler. Eleanor will also be missed by other relatives and many close friends and wonderful neighbours while living her life in Orangeville.

Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents James Armour McMillan and Edith (Phair), Donald James McMillan and Beatrice (Black) and Howard McMillan, all of of Orangeville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family or the Westminster Church Organ Fund.
