Obituary for Fay Brown

Brown, Effie Fay (nee Parker)
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Fay Wilson-Brown announce her passing into the presence of our Lord and Maker. Predeceased by her husbands David B. Wilson (1999) and Bill Brown (2011).
A native of Scotland and new mother, Fay came to Canada in 1963 to join her husband and begin a new and fulfilling life. A woman of faith, she was the embodiment of Scottish determination and tenacity. Her sharp mind and disciplined approach to life were attributes than served her family well. A great conversationalist with a keen sense of humour, Fay loved to socialize with everyone. Fay often commented that she was “very blessed to have had two good men in her life”. Her strength of character was on full display to the end of her life, and our lives are richer for having been touched by hers.
Much loved, she will be missed by many, including her four children David (Paivi), Colin, Shawn (Jacqueline) and Michelle Hillis (Mark), predeceased by stepson Gregg Brown (Alenka). Fay was a caring grandmother to Laura (Mike), Scott (Amy), David (Rebecca), Allie, Michael, Irene, Colleen, Martin, Matthew, Joshuah, Marcus and Emily. Great-grandmother to Erica, Wyatt, Cameron, Austin, Colton, Kai, Riley, Charlotte, Reata and Henry.
Special note of appreciation to the staff at the United Mennonite Home.
At her request, a Private Service will be held at Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre.

A tree will be planted in memory of Effie Fay in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville.
