Doyle Stone, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on February 23rd, 2023, at the age of 92.
Doyle was born on August 10th, 1930, in Monroe, Newfoundland. He was predeceased by his life-long love, Emily.
Doyle was a devoted father to his three children, Gail, Gary and Karyn. He was a proud grandfather to his eight grandchildren, Trevor, Kevin, Lorraine, Shannon, Sarah, Nathan, Cameron, and Kyra. He was also a loving great-grandfather to Jake, Lexi, Kadey, Ellie, Kaylum, Cadence, Laken, and Indie.
Doyle was known for his kind and gentle nature, his ease with speaking to strangers and making new acquaintances, as well as his unwavering loyalty to his family and friends.
Doyle was always up-to-date on current events and served as a shining example of appreciating what you have, being grateful, and never seeking excess. Doyle rarely missed a Toronto Maple Leafs or Blue Jays game (and was also known to enjoy some WWE wrestling!). He loved seeing his family all together, enjoying time in cottage country over the years at Balsam Lake, Crystal Lake, and Cameron Lake.
A celebration of life for Doyle’s surviving family and friends will be held at 1 p.m. on March 11th, 2023, at the Salvation Army Church – 690 Riddell Road, Orangeville, Ontario.
Doyle will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A tree will be planted in memory of Doyle in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 21st Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
