Peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023 at the age of 101. Beloved husband of the late Freeda Turney and Winnifred MacKnight. Dear father of Everett (Janet) of Shelburne, Larry (Theresa) of Arthur, Dianne Ryder (Gordon-2022) of Orangeville, Elaine of New Brunswick, Murray of Bolton, Ralph of Durham, Bill (Faith) of Grand Valley and Blanche (Steven) of Newmarket. Cherished grandfather of 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Loving brother of Mary. Predeceased by his siblings Grace, Gordon, Florence, Geraldine, Jeanette, Vera. Cecil will also be greatly missed by other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Monday May 8th, 2023 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday May 9th, 2023 at 2:30 pm. Memorial donations to Tweedsmuir Presbyterian Church or the Orangeville Seniors Centre or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
A tree will be planted in memory of Cecil in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 21st Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
