Obituary for Bruce Elmir Tupling

Bruce Elmir Tupling, born on July 18, 1926, died peacefully in his sleep after a brief illness, on April 7, 2022, at Wellington Terrace, Fergus, Ontario, in his 96th year.

Bruce was the beloved husband of the late Linda Cecile Tupling (Belrose/Greig), dear father of Donna Bolger (Gerry), Barbara Green (Terry Verboven), Debbie Ovens (Peter) and Dianne Mateus. He was the stepfather of the late Wesley, the late Gwenda, Kimberley Wells (David), Sheree Greig, Rodney Greig (Rhonda) and Monty Greig. And he was proud to be a grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.

He was predeceased by his parents, Elmer Alexander Tupling and Ann Ethel Tupling (Thompson) and his siblings Allan, Norman and Luella McKechnie.

Bruce joined the army in 1944 and in the years following the war, had careers as a heavy equipment mechanic, a salesman and lastly as a coach driver, which certainly indulged his love of travel and people. His hobbies included woodworking, cribbage, playing guitar and singing. He was a wonderful whistler! In his later years, he and Linda enjoyed getting together with friends for jam sessions.

He was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion and enjoyed taking part in legion activities and ceremonies.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with lunch to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 442,12 Dundas St. E., Erin. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Branch 442 of the Royal Canadian Legion.

A tree will be planted in memory of Bruce in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville.
