Anne Elizabeth Ward
September 24, 1943 – November 7, 2016
Anne passed away early Monday at home from the effects of pancreatic cancer.
Anne, the daughter of Barbara and John Paterson, was born in Ottawa and moved to Montreal in 1945, following the War. She graduated from Trafalgar School and was Head Girl in her final year. Following attendance at Sir George Williams she had a career as a buyer at The Bay. She met David Ward in 1962 and following a whirlwind romance they were married in 1968. We moved to Toronto via London, England for a year, in 1973. For the next 20 years Anne raised 2 wonderful children, imparting to them her spirit and working to overcome some of the difficult issues that we faced.

Life in and around Toronto was full – boating and trail riding leading to gardening, golf and bridge, the latter to enable her to make new friends as time moved on! Anne approached all of these activities with energy; she liked to organize and include new and old friends. She is survived by David Ward, her daughter Robin, son Colin and Robin’s children, Sophie, Riley, and Ella. She is survived by her sister, Judy Dawson and predeceased by her sister Stephanie Paterson. Anne will be missed by her extended family.

We would like to thank the medical professionals who provided prompt and caring treatment and to the friends who sent many supportive messages, pictures and stories to Anne.

Funeral Service will be held at St. Mark's Anglican Church, 5 First Avenue, Orangeville, ON L9W 1H7 on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at the church at 10:00 am.
