Tokarz, Anna (nee Szewc)
With great sadness we announce the loss of Anna Jadwiga Tokarz, of Orangeville Ontario, who passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022. Anna was born December 24, 1938 in Howelow Poland to parents Antoni and Katarzyna Szewc. She came to Canada December 7, 1960. Anna married Wojciech (Albert) Tony Klamka and they resided in Fort Frances Ontario where they had two children, Andre Frank Klamka & Kathleen Teresa Leslie (Klamka).
Anna learned to speak English with the help of her husband, neighbours & small Polish community. Anna was a hard worker and spent many years as a housekeeper at La Verendrye General Hospital. Later in life she enjoyed a job working in the kitchen at The Red Dog Inn and also spent time as a cleaning lady at Midtown Motel. She also volunteered in Fort Frances raising money for the hospital by selling her fabulous perogies. Anna remarried to Wladyslaw (Walter) Tokarz and spent a short time with him before he sadly passed from cancer. She moved to Orangeville Ontario to be close to her Granddaughter and spent her remaining years there. Anna brought great beauty and joy to the world through her love of flowers. She was an avid gardener and would spend hours tending to her beloved flowers. Anna was proud to become a Canadian Citizen, and her heritage was also very important to her. She spent a lot of time in the kitchen making the most awesome perogies and cabbage rolls, or she would be baking breads and cakes or her famous pies.
Anna was predeceased by her parents Antoni Szewc and Katarzyna Szewc (Mazur), her brothers, sisters, Tony Klamka and Walter Tokarz. Anna leaves behind her son Andre (wife Doreen), daughter Kathleen, granddaughters Sara, Sherry & Ladawn, great grandchildren Milan, Anex and Luna as well as over 50 nieces, nephews, and cousins in Poland. Anna will be mourned privately by her immediate family.
In memoriam donations may be made to Diabetes Canada or The Canadian Cancer Society.

A tree will be planted in memory of Anna in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 21st Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
