Embalming is the preservation, disinfection, and restoration of a deceased human body for funeral purposes. It allows families to carry out traditions such as several days of open casket visitation, followed by a funeral service with burial or cremation, or if time is needed to plan and prepare between the occurrence of the death and the funeral service.
