Condolence From: Stephanie Williams
Condolence: Growing up, Girl Guides was a big part of my life and it very much shaped the person I am today. I am honoured to have had Sheila in my life as a part of that chapter. She was always full of positive energy and brought a special element to leading all of us young women. I remember in high school, she took a fellow pathfinder and I into work with her (at the Avalon) as her "children" for 'Bring your child to work Day' (since our parents could not). I could see then that it wasn't just us girls she had an effect on. She was a selfless person who touched the lives of so many people, young and old. Always with a smile, Sheila taught us the important things: to have fun, be compassionate but above all, "to be a friend." She truly knew what it meant to be a Guide. Thank you Sheila for the time we shared and the memories we made together. You will be missed. Much love and prayers to her family. - Stephanie Williams

Condolence: Samantha and I would like to offer our deepest condolences to Sheila’s family. I can only imagine how broken-hearted you all are. She loved you all so very much and was so very proud of you . I met Sheila about 9years ago at Roberta Place, first as a co-op student and then as a peer and volunteer and her enthusiasm soon had me dragging my children to help as well. She was such a ball of positive energy and she will be greatly missed. May you find comfort in knowing that her memory will live on in so many people’s hearts. The world seems a little dimmer without her.

Condolence: I was so saddened to hear of Sheila's passing last night just before I was leaving for Roberta Place. I've known Sheila for over 5 years as I am one of her volunteers. Sheila was always helpful, encouraging and fun to be with. I spent an evening with her at the last awards ceremony and it was great to get to know her more - such a kind, thoughtful, giving person. I saw her this past Sunday and as usual she gave me a warm hello, as she was busy tidying up after a gathering. I will miss her.

Condolence: I am both shocked and saddened to hear this sad news re my dear friend Sheila. We became friends almost 12 years ago when I started my therapy dog career at Roberta Place. Our casual introduction blossomed into a deep and meaningful friendship that I will be forever grateful for. Sheila you were the light in so many peoples lives both for the residents you cared for and all the people you came into contact with. Your kindness and support knew no bounds. Your daughters and grandchildren that you spoke of with pride and much love must be devastated to lose you so suddenly You were an angel on earth and I will miss you forever. Love to you always - forever in my heart Laurie Miller-Tremblay and Seiko from St. John ambulance therapy dogs🐶😢

Condolence: Please accept my condolences on Sheila's passing. Sheila was a friend and peer in the volunteer management community in Barrie. Sheila demonstrated great compassion, leadership and love of life. We shared a great road trip to a conference in Ottawa in which she shared her love of her family, wishing the road to Orangeville was shorter and her latest Brownie activities. She will be greatly missed.

Condolence From: Jeya Harrison (Holy Spirit Parish)
Condolence: I had the pleasure of knowing Sheila for over 10 years while she worked as the Volunteer Coordinator at Roberta Place. Sheila always exhibited a positive attitude in all situations, regardless whether stressful or not. She genuinely cared for the residents as well as for all volunteers, showing a respectful and grateful attitude towards them. The last time I saw Sheila, which was on Friday, APRIL 6th , she was showing a video presentation of therapy dogs and all different kinds of pets to the residents. This brought a great deal of pleasure to them. On behalf of the Holy Spirit Parish disciples who volunteer at Roberta Place, please accept my heartfelt condolences. Sheila will be greatly missed. May she rest in God’s peace, Amen.
