Condolences

Condolence From: Linda and Steve Williams
Condolence: Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf,
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day
Nothing gold can stay.

Robert Frost

You were gold Tom,

Condolence: I have fond memories of Tom and his “off the wall” sense of humour. I am so very sorry for the heartache my dear friend Brenda and Tom’s family and friends are feeling. Tom, may you forever be free from pain. Rest peacefully. xo

Condolence: Ivan and I are very saddened to lose such a good friend. Although our acquaintance with Tom doesn't go back as long as many others; our lives have been enriched by knowing him. His brilliance and wit will always be remembered...as well as his kindness to others. As a grandfather, he and Brenda made such good memories with Amy. We are blessed to have known him and Amy is blessed to have had him as her Gandpa Tom.

Much love and sympathy to Brenda, Val, Daniel and sweet Amy

Condolence: Our Condolences and deepest sympathy to family and friends. Tom you have no idea how much you will be missed, with your great sense of humour your knowledge that you were able to share and pass on. I will miss all your funny comments on facebook when it comes to Frank. You two shared great creativity and knowledge which is very hard to find. You will always be in our hearts and never forgotten.

Condolence: I remember all the fun times we had at Wasaga Beach when we were kids.
We really enjoyed having Tom and Helen over for lunch when cousin Marj. was visiting. We had a lot of laughs and Tom could always outdo us on funny stories. Helen always said how good Tom was to her. We miss you both.

Condolence: I’ll always remember the times Tom showed up at our cottage on his motorcycle. We’d had a lovely time reminiscing, and learning of his escapades, then off he’d go back home. Tom was a one of a kind joker, and a great help to his late sister, Helen. The world has lost someone good and kind. Our thoughts are with you all.

Condolence: Okay, one more as I sit here laughing out loud about Tom stories trying not to wake the house. Again I arrive in Toronto after taking a delayed red eye from Vancouver. Which means we are about 30 hours without proper sleep. In Mom and Dad’s driveway and Tom says “Hey come and try this”. From his trunk he pulls out a clear Mickey bottle with a masking tape label. He tells me he made moonshine and this is the product. The masking tape label has a pencil inscription that is smudged. I read it out loud “Derby Scotch??....That’s an odd name “ I then take a hearty swig after which my throat thinks I have swallowed fire and my belly is looking for an escape from my body. Tom is rolling in laughter mostly because of the label which he tells me actually says........ “Deadly Scotch”. Don’t trust your ability to read a smudged pencil label on masking tape after an all night flight. We had many a Derby Scotch reference after that. Anyway, gotta go, Have a memorable day tomorrow as he has given you lots to laugh about. I shall raise a Scotch one more time and will laugh out loud.
PS During our last chat he really spoke with great appreciation about help the neighbours were giving him and Brenda. Considering you had to survive potato cannons and who knows what other impulses over the years, well done folks.

Condolence: As I cannot get there on short notice must share at least one story. Mom had a stroke and was in the hospital just before I arrived for a visit. With Tom at the the hospital and he tells me of the initial check in at emergency. Dr asks, “ Does her mouth always droop to the side like that?” Tom responds, “ No, she’s doing her Robert Do Niro impression!” At least it made Mom laugh.
