Obituary for Toni Ryzebol (Meijer)

Toni Ryzebol (Meijer)
Ryzebol, Toni (nee Meijer)
Toni Ryzebol (Meijer)
On Wednesday, March 7, 2018 God called home his faithful servant Toni, at the age of 84. Beloved and devoted wife of 62 years to the late Sid Ryzebol, Toni was born November 4th, 1933 and will be lovingly remembered by her children Anda (Dennis), Ben (Teresa), Peter, Brant (Janet). Oma will be missed by her grandchildren Derek (Susan), Rudy (Ulrike), Antonia, Tara (Rob), Rejeanne, Sidney (Alicia), Reuben, Kiana and Lucas and her great grandchildren Annelies, Lily, Alexis, Oliver, Kristiana and Heidi. Tante Toni will also be missed by Janet (Bert) and Peter (Mary) and many other nephews and nieces. The seventh of eight children she is survived by only her sister Trijn in the Netherlands.
Toni emigrated to Canada from the Netherlands at the age of 19 to join her sweetheart Sid. Together they worked hard to make their dream of farming a reality moving from Toronto to Amaranth in 1962. Toni’s life resounded with her love for Jesus and she served God in so many ways: at home, at church and in the community. Always happy behind the wheel of a tractor (the bigger the better) in later years mowing the ever-increasing acres of lawn and maintaining stunning flower beds became her true passion. She lived to be outdoors and loved to be the last one back to the house after a long day’s work, but being outside never stopped Toni from keeping a “dutch” clean house or serving “Oma’s food” – legendary flavourful meals that allowed for an extra plate (or three) to be added to the table on any day, with a warm welcome and the words “moet op.” Oma will be missed dearly, but we are confident that by God’s grace, one day we will share a meal with her again.
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Christian Reformed Church, 50 Blind Line, Orangeville, ON on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
Private Interment will follow at Laurel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Orangeville Christian School or Bethell Hospice Foundation would be appreciated.
The Ryzebol family are very grateful for the excellent care Toni received in her last weeks from the devoted and compassionate staff and volunteers at Bethell Hospice.
A tree will be planted in memory of Toni in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
