Obituary for Maxine Gwyneth Brownell (Hunter)

Maxine Gwyneth Brownell (Hunter)
BROWNELL, Maxine Gwenyth
It is with great heartbreak and sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Maxine on Saturday, February 3, 2018, while vacationing in Mexico, at the age of 73. Beloved wife of William, who predeceased her in 2009 after 45 years of marriage. Very proud and loving mother to Deborah (Rob), Cathy (Perry) and Kimberly (Stefan), treasured Nana to Leycee, Ryan, Ryley, Matthew and Mandi. Predeceased by her parents Matthew and Gwenyth and her brother David. Adored by her nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Maxine’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She was one in a billion. Maxine always had an open door, a kind word, a loving touch, an infectious smile and a laugh you could never forget. An incredible mother, mother-in-law and nana like no other. Maxine touched the lives of so many, always helping and always giving, she will be deeply missed by her trusted lifelong friends and new friends alike. Maxine is survived by Ken Lund, who she shared the love of travel and life with over the last several years.
Maxine was very active in the community she loved, being a member and/or volunteer within the Town of Orangeville’s Aging Community Committee, the Red Hat Society, the Hospital Auxiliary, Probus Club and enthusiastic participant of the Exercise and Zumba Club. Previously she was a member of the Amaranth Lions Club where she raised countless funds for the local hospital. Maxine was a proud recipient of the Ontario Volunteer Service Award for her activism in the community.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with Words of Remembrance spoken at 12:30 p.m.
In Maxine’s memory, donations may be made in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Headwaters Health Care Foundation.
