Condolence: Hard to believe you're gone my dear friend...

I only recently found out about Fred's passing and regret I missed paying tribute in person. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

I first met Fred in Toronto ( at least 40 years ago now ) and we became close friends. We owned a house in Brampton at a time he worked for Mack Trucks. He bought my share of the house while I settled in Toronto.
The last time I saw him was this past October. He seemed pretty much the same old Fred and I had little intimation that he would pass on only a few months later. That made the news shocking and sadder...as he died too young.

Over the years I got to meet both Digbys ( saw the second Digby the day Fred picked him up as a puppy ). Fred loved his dog. And of course whoever knew him knew well his great passion for tennis.

Fred was honest, kind, considerate, generous, super-energetic and nearly always cheering and positive.
He was religious and I've thought of him over the years as a man who was morally ambitious.
He was one of a kind. I only wish he had met the woman he searched for for so long.

I feel the loss of a true and loyal friend, and Fred, may you rest in peace.

Condolence: I was shocked and saddened to hear of Fred's passing. Shocked because he appeared so physically fit, and saddened because I enjoyed bantering with him at Chinguacousy. Fred was extremely honest, very dog-like. He had a big heart and loved to give and share. I know he was an unshakeable Christian and is in paradise today. Fred is enjoying real living with Jesus. Fred is truly a winner at life.

Condolence: With deepest sadness, to hear the passing of Fred.
A wonderful man in every way. We first met Fred at the farm where he and his companion Digby were in their element. My son and I loved their company. Fred's love for life and all it had to offer was evident in all he did. We enjoyed his company at summer bbq's. My son and I love the farm and swimming at the pond, where we watched Fred zoom around on the lawn mower with such precision and ease while Digby ran by his side. What a great team. Digby moving branches out of Fred's way. Both caring so much for each other. Fred was always smiling and giving a gentle wave hello. We will miss him alot and will hold tightly to all those great memories. Thank you for the tennis balls and the tennis tips. Sadly missed.

Condolence: I first met Fred a couple of years ago at the Chinguacousy Indoor Tennis Club. Although we never played a match, we did have opportunities to talk tennis before going on our courts. Fred had a real passion for the game and I'd say everyone who plays there knew him .
He will be sadly missed by all.

Condolence: I have fond memories of my Uncle Fred who, during his visit to BC in 1986, taught me how to play tennis. He took me out on the court a few times and taught me the basics. His enthusiasm for the sport left a strong impression on me, and he would have been proud to know his niece went on to beat all the boys at school. Tennis also developed into a huge passion of mine, which I owe to him.

The next time he visited my family in BC was in 2001 to attend my wedding. On the big day he was there to set up the chairs for the outdoor ceremony, pray for no rain, and help out my parents with last minute details. We even got to dance together at the reception, and he had a great time, he only wished he would have met a nice lady.

I remember his calls to my family home on Christmas Day. We had nice chats about my girls, and he'd share how he was still looking for a nice lady like my mother, Louise, and how lucky my Dad was. It was very sweet.

I often wished be didn't live so far from my father, David, who worried about his little brother. To see all these posts warms my family's hearts to know he was so loved and cared for by those who could see what a kind and generous man he was. He had such strong faith and I feel in my heart he is at peace. Your BC family will miss your Christmas morning phone calls, Uncle Fred.

Condolence: 4 year ago was the last time I saw Fred. Sharon and I were down there and I wanted to check on him anyway but I told Sharon you have to meet Fred --there is only one Fred in this world.
We went out for meal and Sharon left a lot of hers and I knew Fred would be upset if we left food so gave her plate to Fred and he cleaned it up.
To play tennis saturday -shaving on Sunday for church and have a almost instant death for someone like Fred I think is a real blessing.
Could you imagine someone like Fred spending a few years in a nursing home.

Condolence: Fred, you will be missed..you lived life to the fullest...We have so many memories of you as you lived in our family as our little brother!! and visited our home in Saskatoon. Condolence: It is a great loss for the tennis association in and around the Peel region/Orangeville area. His character and personality is indeed one of a kind and Fred would be truly missed. We know he in a better place now and may his soul rest in peace.
