Frederick 'Fred' Alfred Lockman
Fred Alfred Lockman
November 25, 1948 - December 18, 2017

On Monday, December 18, 2017 at the age of 69, Fred Lockman passed away, at his home in Alton. The beloved son of the late Beulah & Charlie Start; Fred is survived by his brother David and his sister Mary and his much loved nieces and nephews; Renae, Michelle, Steven, April & Cheryl.
Fred’s love of animals was obvious through his work with livestock at Spruce Winds and his management of race horses at Rolling Ridge however, it was most evident through the life long relationship he shared with his dog, Digby. His German Shepherd was always by his side and he, along with the rest of us, will miss Fred deeply.

For those that knew Fred, they are keenly aware of Fred’s passion for tennis. Something Fred enjoyed right up until the end. Fred was remarkably quick on the court and spent countless hours playing, practicing and promoting the sport. Fred was a very kind man, filled with love and generosity for everyone he knew.

A Service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Friends Fellowship Church, 219 Broadway in Orangeville. Please join us in saying goodbye to a dear friend.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

A tree will be planted in memory of Fred in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
