Condolence: My deepest condolences to the family. Miss Dorothy taught both my children at the
Little Red Playhouse many years ago and was a wonderful teacher!
May her memory be a blessing!

Condolence: Deeply saddened to learn of Mrs. Dorothy's passing. She ran a wonderful pre-school at Elizabeth Ballantyne School. It was a magical introduction for my daughter through the kind and gentle auspices of Mrs. Dorothy's guidance. Her many students and their families will always remember her with special fondness and appreciation. Mrs. Kirchberger left a great legacy to us all and we are diminished by her passing.

Condolence: Our thoughts are with you in this difficult time, and even though we can’t be there today we are with you in our hearts and send you our love. Dorothea was very special for us: full of life, loving, generous. She made us feel a part of the family, and was for us a fantastic, adorable, “virtual” grandmother. We will miss her dearly, but she’ll live in our hearts for as long as they’ll be beating. And we find comfort in the thought that she’s now reunited again with Erich, her great love that she missed so much, and the second half of the most adorable couple we ever met. Crossing path with Dorothea and Erich was one of the greatest joy and blessing of our lives, and we consider ourselves privileged to still feel their presence and joy in the house that they inhabited for so long. And they’ll still be here symbolically for a long time to come, as we planted and christened two trees in their honor a few years ago.

As well, to help keep alive Dorothea’s legacy in NDG and honour her life in a different way we have made a donation to "The Little Red Playhouse". We know that she was very proud of the work done there for kids here, and we want to make our own contribution to a cause that was dear to her heart and an organization that was an important part of her life.

Knowing how unique she was and how close you were to her, we can just begin to image how difficult these days must be for you. But wherever she is, I am sure that she watches over you lovingly and will help you in these challenging days.

Condolence: Dorothea, my flower, you have have now left us. I say you are a flower because when I see flowers, I cheer up and always smile, and there was not one moment I spent with you where I didn't smile. Whether you were standing on your tippy-toes at the front door window on Grand to see me arrive or leave, pedaling your gold bicycle with a basket full of goods on Somerled Avenue in NDG, or serving me your famous wiener schnitzel next to Peter at the table, a grin from ear-to-ear would instantly appear on my face whenever I was in your company. Mrs. Kirchberger, the world was a better place with you in it. Your soothing voice and charming accent always put people at ease, and your gorgeous smile and long blonde hair always lit up a room. You were patient, understanding, and generous, and will be missed dearly by all. My tears demonstrate sorrow, but underneath those tears, is a smile for the joy of knowing you. I loved hugging you, and will miss laying laying my chin on top of your head as I did. Dorothea, Ich liebe dich so sehr und werde dich für immer vermissen. - Niklaus
