Obituary for Hillary Virginia Twigg (Twigg)

Hillary Virginia Twigg
July 3, 1994 – April 26, 2017
We lost a bright light in our lives on Wednesday, April 26, 2017.
Hillary, or Ginny as she was known to some, attended Belfountain Public School, Allan Drive Public School and Orangeville District Secondary School.
She was stunningly beautiful, with eyes like Audrey Hepburn. For some unknown reason she loved her Boston Bruins. Always known for being inclusive to all and a champion against injustices for friends and strangers alike. She had a brilliant mind and quick wit. She could step up to any challenge with fierce determination. Her greatest love and joy was her sweet son, Ryan. Everyone knows that there this no love like a mother’s love. She was very proud to be his momma.
Hillary died because of mental illness and addiction. If you want to honour Hillary’s life, please don’t judge people with these illnesses. Understand that these are good people with a horrible disease. Let’s all end the stigma together.
Left to mourn Hillary and celebrate her life are: her son Ryan Lessard, Maureen Kelly and Peter Weber, Dean and Susan Twigg, her sisters Meghan Twigg and Michaela Brenham, her brothers Scott Smith and Ryan Twigg, Ryan’s dad Marc Lessard and all of Hillary and Ryan’s grandparents and great-grandparents.
Also aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, old and new.
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First Street, Orangeville on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Memorial Service will take place in the Chapel on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Family Transition Place http://familytransitionplace.ca/ or Renascent Rehab http://renascent.ca/.
A tree will be planted in memory of Hillary in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
