Condolence: The Community has lost a great man. I had the privilege of working alongside Don in the "D-Office". He was our CIB Inspector at the time and enthusiastically engaged in all major cases. He was always pleasant and approachable, these were warm attributes that he carried with him through his promotions to Chief of Police. Thanks for the memories Don. -Brian Abraham S/Sgt 324 (Ret).

Condolence: Chief Hillock had a profound effect on the police organization and on me personally. Upon my retirement and move to Gravenhurst, Lindy and I renewed our friendship with Don. Lindy and I enjoyed many visits on his cottage deck and he became one of our closest friends. We have lost a great man and Lindy and I have his family in our thoughts at this sad time.

Condolence: I was a young Constable when Chief Hillock took charge of YRP. He immediately made an impact a wonderful changes to our service. He was greatly respected by the rank and file and left a legacy that is still felt today. My condolences to the Hillock family.

Condolence: Chief Hillock was a great Chief of Police and a great human being. He was dedicated, caring and proud of his Police Service and the people who served within. It was an honour to work with him. His legacy and fingerprints in YRP still continue today. My sincere condolences to Joan and the entire Hillock family.

Condolence: It is with deep sorrow that I offer my condolences to Chief Hillock's family on his passing. I got to know the Chief in the late 1980s in the Ontario Chief's Of Police Association. He was always inclusive and helpful and his credibility was always outstanding. He was very helpful to me during the Municipal Amalgamation of New Tecumseth. His Character, Dedication and Leadership lead the York Regional Police Force to be one of the most professional and capable in the Country. He will be Remembered.

Condolence: I have know Don since he was on the Aurora police department many years ago, he then went to the Whitchurch Twp. police department, which of course was swallowed up during the York Regional amalgamation.Don always was an outstanding individual a first class police officer and a first class person. York Regional Police would not have been what it is today if is wasn't for Chief Don Hillock. I am saddened by the news of his passing and extent my sincere condolences to the entire Hillock family. Condolence: Our condolences to the entire Hillock family. I was a proud member of YRP who had the privilege of working under Chief Don Hillock. He was a wonderful Chief of Police who brought our Service into the modern age. He made so many positive changes at YRP and he provided so many opportunities to many officers at the time. YRP is what it is today because of the many initiatives that Chief Hillock had the foresight to start in the late 1980's. He was a wonderful person who always made himself available to his officers. I was truly honoured to have worked directly for the Chief. Thank you Chief for all that you have done for YRP and for your officers. You made us all very proud to be a member of YRP. Rest in peace.
