Stanley “Bud” Chapman, age 84, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 in Orangeville Ontario. Bud was surrounded by his loving family, and his infectious personality will be greatly missed by everyone with whom he interacted.
Bud was born on January 1, 1933, in Toronto, son of John and Mary (Irving) Chapman. Bud was a Quality Inspection Engineer at Litton Industries in Etobicoke, Ontario for 30 years. Bud will always be remembered for being a helpful friend to the community as he was continuously willing to lend a hand to his neighbours whenever they needed. Bud also was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed tending his garden.
Bud is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elza (Bailey) Chapman of Orangeville, his children, daughter Carol-Ann Chapman and her partner Rachel Clark, son David Chapman and his partner Mart Burrows. His grandchildren Jessica Rodgers, Jakob Rodgers and his partner Paula Chadwick, Micheal Smith, and Madison Chapman. His great-grandchildren Charlotte and Madison. His sisters Mary and Diane, and his brothers Peter, Paul, and Ross. He was predeceased by his brother John and his sister Kathleen “Kitty”.
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Mark's Anglican Church, 5 First Ave., Orangeville, on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 1:30 p.m.
Donations in place of flowers can be made to St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Orangeville, or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
A tree will be planted in memory of Stanley (Bud) in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. A dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
