After extensive planning with the Credit Valley Conservation, the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest Program was launched by the Gauthier family in August 2002. The program offers families an opportunity to commemorate the life of a loved one by planting a tree in a natural forest at Island Lake Conservation area. Once a year, a special ceremony is held at the Memorial Forest Dedication site.
The Memorial Forest is a place where people may enjoy and study nature, as well as take time to pause and reflect.
